FAQ: Why does the HTML5 Web Client disconnect from the session nearly every day, even when the Web Server is always running with a stable connection?

When the HTML5 Web Engine Deployment Tool is used, an Application Pool will be created in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. By default, the WebEngine_zenon5HMTL Application pool will be configured to use recycling every 1740 minutes, which corresponds to 29 hours.

The recycling is used to keep the IIS services stable & running. This setting can be deactivated (which is not recommended) or changed to use a different behaviour or time interval. This can be done in the following steps:
  1. Type “IIS” in the Windows Start menu or in the “Run..” dialog and press enter. The IIS Manager will open.
  2. Expand the corresponding machine in the Connections-Section and click on the “Application Pools”.
  3. Open the “Recycling….” Dialog with a right click on the “WebEngine_zenonHTML5” Application Pool.
  4. The dialog provides several different options to realize the recycling.
