Under circumstances the zenon runtime may not correctly recognize it is runtime server

Summary

Under specific circumstances the zenon runtime may not correctly identify the PC it was started from as the runtime server and attempts to start as a client instead of runtime server

Description

Under specific circumstances the zenon runtime may not correctly identify the PC it was started from as the runtime server and attempts to start as a client instead of runtime server

Solution

An issue has been addressed in the zenon runtime where under specific circumstances a reverse name lookup did not result in the same name as a forward lookup. Now the runtime no longer performs a reverse lookup and the runtime correctly identifies the PC as the runtime server.   For "server1" and "server2" only a host name, with or without dns suffix, may be entered and not an ip address

Information

On affected systems disabling IPv6 for the network adapter may act as a workaround to the issue where reverse lookup results in a different host name than forward lookup. With IPv6 disabled, the runtime may correctly recognize the host name for the runtime server
