The SAP interface will show success messages even though it is not configured correctly and does not work

Summary

When using zenon´s SAP interface the SAP GUI has to be installed on the runtime PC. To be more precise, the correct SAP GUI (32/64bit) has to be installed. When using the 64 bit version of zenon, also the 64 bit version of the SAP GUI is required. Unfortunately, if this is not the case (if only the 32 bit version of the SAP GUI is installed) zenon will still show success messages when performing the connection test in the editor and when executing a RFC call in the runtime (CEL). Despite these success messages the SAP interface does not work.

Solution

An issue has been addressed where incorrect success messages were displayed for the SAP interface. Without a matching SAP GUI installed, zenon did not identify an error and thus reported success messages. After the fix, zenon will correctly inform the user that the correct version of the SAP GUI is missing.
