SQL connector to linked server does not work with FQDN ( full qualified domain name )

Summary

SQL connector and 3rd party connector are now capable of working with linked server names that contain the dot (.) character. This character is usually used in fully qualified domain names for computers.

To deploy this fix:

  1. Install a build containing the fix on the ZAMS (Reporting Studio) computer.
  2. Connect ZAMS (Reporting Studio) to the Analyzer Server (Report Engine) to any database.
  3. In ZAMS (Reporting Studio) click on "Update SQL Server Extensions" in the ribbon "SQL Server" --> fix is applied to ALL databases on the Analyzer Server (Report Engine)
