SAP Server programs don't work any more after a redundancy switch

SAP Server programs don't work any more after a redundancy switch

Summary

When using SAP server programs in a zenon project with redundancy, they can only be correctly executed when no redundancy switch is performed. After a redundancy switch, they will still be executed on the same computer (which is now the standby). Also in case the initial server goes offline, the server programs will not be executed on the new server. "COMMUNICATION_FAILURE" will be displayed in the SAP system Even when the initial server comes back and takes the server role again, the SAP server programs will still fail.

Description

When using SAP server programs in a zenon project with redundancy, they can only be correctly executed when no redundancy switch is performed. After a redundancy switch, they will still be executed on the same computer (which is now the standby). Also in case the initial server goes offline, the server programs will not be executed on the new server. "COMMUNICATION_FAILURE" will be displayed in the SAP system Even when the initial server comes back and takes the server role again, the SAP server programs will still fail.

Solution

The handling of SAP server programs has been modified, so that now they are executed on the current server. After redundancy switch, they will be correctly executed on the new server.

Information

Note that server programs might not be executed in the time between zenon server breakdown and the upgrade of the standby to the new server.
