Metadata Synchronizer has Low synchronization performance with certain workspaces

Metadata Synchronizer has Low synchronization performance with certain workspaces

Summary

In version 10 and 11 the synchronization process for the Metadata Synchronizer has been optimized,

Description
In some workspaces the Metadata Synchronizer needs a lot of time to load and synchronize all data.  The synchronisation process has been optimised.
To benefit from the optimizations:
Update your zenon to the latest build of version 10 or 11.

Optimizations in detail:
  • Synchronization has been optimized for the following:
    • Links from archives to equipment groups
    • Variables included in archives
    • Efficiency class models
    • Links from variables to equipment groups
    • Meanings of variables
  • Synchronization now makes use of parallel data processing where possible. Therefore, computers with more processors can benefit more than computers with fewer processors, depending on the number of projects included in the synchronization.
    • First, these elements are synchronized in parallel with one task per element:
      • alarm/event classes
      • alarm/event group
      • users
      • equipment models
      • global project language table
      • project metadata
    • Then the project contents are synchronized in parallel. Each project is synchronized in a task and each task processes these elements in this order:
      • shift recording tables
      • variables
      • state lists
      • archives
      • project language table
    • According to the project content, these elements are synchronized in parallel with one task per element:
      • efficiency class models
      • sankey diagrams
      • waterfall models
