IEC870: optionally initialize command variables

IEC870: optionally initialize command variables

Summary

The IEC870 driver has been enhanced with a new driver-global configuration option: "Initialize command variables" (default: off).

Description

When the option is set command variables are initialized with a 0 value and the Not Topical (NT) statusbit, when no value exists in the driver remanent image.

When the option is set and the driver remanent image is enabled and a command value is stored in the driver remanent image, on startup of the Service Engine the remanent value and status is restored.

The enhancement is made available in version 11 and 12.

During initialization, the driver can set a default value for command variables. In the Basic settings tab of the driver configuration dialog, the Initialize command variables option was newly added.

The following applies for command variables:

  • If available, the last known value is set from a remanent variable image.
  • If no remanent variable image is available, the command variable is initialized with the value 0 with the status bit NT_870 (not topical
