Hostname can no longer be used with S7TCP32 instead of using the IP Address

Hostname can no longer be used with S7TCP32 instead of using the IP Address

Description

In zenon 14, the connection via the “Hostname” no longer works for the S7 TCP-IP driver. Only the “IP address“ is accepted. Thus, when converting from earlier versions that establish the connection via “Hostname”, a connection is no longer established.

This error has been fixed. Both “IP address“and “Hostname” are accepted again for the driver connection.

To benefit from this fix:

  • Update your zenon Software Platform to the latest build of zenon 14 or higher.
