Display errors in the Service Engine may occur due to the graphic settings of the project. In zenon Version 7.20, many changes considering the DirectX support were made. The following issues may occur:
- The page appears as blank, no elements are shown
- Buttons may be hidden or behind a gray layer, but they are still operatable/clickable
- Elements aren't displayed as they are in the Service Engine, e.g. with different coloring/style
- Other displaying errors, which can occur depending on the GPU in use
The main reason for this issue is the graphics quality setting in the project properties, which is by default set to "DirectX Hardware". This will activate the graphics hardware and therefore several calculation tasks will be executed by the GPU. Depending on the drivers and the GPU in use, the above mentioned issues may occur.
If the setting is swapped to use "DirecX Software" all graphic tasks are executed by the CPU only. This is in most cases an acceptable and well working solution for this issue. Since the display errors are often caused by corrupt or missing DirectX drivers, a solution can also be to update the graphic drivers, which can be found on the manufacturers website).
This is a well know Issue for Intel HD Graphics 4000 Display Adapters.
