FAQ: Soft Dongle breaks upon virtual machine snapshot restore in CodeMeter Version 7.10 or higher. This results in a loss of license.
This only affects licenses activated on soft dongles (aka: CmAct licenses). CodeMeter in version 7.10 detects if a snapshot to the machine was applied and invalidates the soft dongle. This results in invalid or not found licenses.
The soft dongle can be deleted by the license manager, if the license manager is still capable of detecting the firm item of Copadata (nr. 6000111) on the dongle. If this is not the case the soft dongle can be deleted by executing the following command prompt. The cmu32.exe can be found in the installation directory of CodeMeter. The DongleID can be seen in the CodeMeter Control Center.
cmu32.exe --delete-cmact-license --serial <DongleID of the Software-Dongle>

Delete only broken soft dongles! Deleting the soft dongle results in a loss of all licenses on that dongle.
The license manager creates a new soft dongle if none is present.
A dongle can be restored initially 2 times.
