FAQ: I got a new configuration file for the Codemeter Dongle. Now I get the message that this is not the correct file, what do I need to do?

Summary

Solution

In case a customer wants to enhance the number of his Client on its Dongle license, or wants to change the extension time limit, he receives a new Configuration file for his Dongle from us. He copies this file in to the Codemeter Dongle folder. With a double-click on the file he uploads the correct data. Sometimes it happens that changes have been made to the Dongle several times and the customer forgets to upload one of these change files. For example, the customer receives a Configuration file to change the number of clients on its dongle and forgets to upload this file. After some weeks, he makes changes on the Dongle extension time. This time he uploads the file. Some month later he wants to make changes on the client again and wants to upload the change file. At this time, it says it´s the wrong file. This happens because he didn´t upload the first Configuration file as he received it. In that case he needs to upload all configuration files he got for his dongle in the right order one after the other.
