FAQ: How does COPA-DATA ensure the Product compatibility with Microsoft Operating System Patches? How can I get information about compatibility issues?
As a generic rule COPA-DATA recommends that the operating system is always kept current and that the security updates at least are installed. Check updates on your own system(s) before installation for possible interaction with the zenon software platform .
Check in time to see what it means for the systems in your company if an operating system is discontinued and consequently no more security updates are provided by the manufacturer. Plan updates for systems carefully and check the systems in a test environment. The current version of zenon always supports the operating systems available at the time of release and allows the conversion of older zenon projects to the respective current version. Isolate systems that cannot be updated and undertake measures to increase the security of such systems.
The products of the zenon platform are subject to continuous quality control. This also applies to the compatibility tests with the currently supported Windows OS Patches & Security patches. Supported OS are tested according to the actual
zenon product lifecycle.
All COPA-DATA QA systems are kept up-to-date automatically and via centralized mechanisms (WSUS). Should compatibility problems arise with these largely automated tests, our SMT (Security Management Team) will actively inform you in the form of a dedicated security newsletter (push service). The contents of these security warnings can also be accessed via the Knowledge Base on the COPA-DATA website.
As a COPA-DATA customer or partner, you are welcome to register for this newsletter via our website, your local sales contact or at security@copadata.com.
