FAQ: Engineering Studio for multiuser project cannot check-in or/and -out elements. A message is shown in the Output window: 'An error occurred while determining status of elements.'
A new checkbox in the Region Settings dialog of Windows was introduced. It is called: 'Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support'.
This problem may occur when this checkbox/option is checked, so that unchecking it and after rebooting the Operating System resolves the problem.
Uncheck this setting on both, Server and Client of the Distributed Engineering system.
This checkbox can be found in the OS-Settings: Time & Language -->Additional date, time & regional settings --> Region / Administrative --> Change system locale...
