DNP332 driver with multiple serial stations configured stops communicating to further slaves when the first slave fails

Summary

When in the DNP332 driver multiple DNP3 slaves are configured for a single serial bus, and the connection to the first slave fails, the DNP332 driver constantly attempts to reconnect to the first slave, and no longer tries to communicate to the other slaves which can still be reached.

Description

When in the DNP332 driver multiple DNP3 slaves are configured for a single serial bus, and the connection to the first slave fails, the DNP332 driver constantly attempts to reconnect to the first slave, and no longer tries to communicate to the other slaves which can still be reached.

Solution

A link timeout has been implemented in the DNP332 driver that can be configured in the driver configuration. It should be set lower than the polling time for each of the slaves. When the slave fails, after the link timeout time the driver recognizes the slave as failed and moves to the next slave.
