Checklist: Printer does not print

Please go through all the points in the following checklist. If necessary, confirm with IT Department any information you cannot verify before contacting your local COPA-DATA Representative.
  1. Printer is switched on, is online and contains paper.
  2. Printer is installed correctly in Windows and a test page can be printed from the configuration.
  3. Printer is selected in the Engineering Studio correctly in File > General configuration > Standard....
  4. Note that Printer configurations do only affect the computer where those were applied. The same configuration must be applied in other computers if necessary.
  5. Printer settings are configured in the local Service Engine computer. Use the zenon function 'Select printer' in Service Engine to choose the appropriate printer for each type of printing. This must be done only once, as the information is stored in the local zenon configuration file (zenon6.ini).
  6. Other zenon modules can print.
  7. Searched and followed error instructions in LOGs related with the print jobs in Service Engine (zenrt32.exe).
  8. Other applications can print as expected (e.g. notepad).
  9. Searched in Knowledge Base if a previous issue has been addressed.
If the problem persists after completing this checklist and followed corrective actions, please contact your local COPA-DATA Representative providing a SIC-Reduced Report from the target computer(s) and the result of this checklist – please include any additional information or comments related with the points addressed you find relevant.
System Information Collector is a standalone COPA-DATA application that collects relevant data about the Operating System and zenon Software Platform for troubleshooting purposes. SIC is installed with zenon and can be started from zenon Startup Tool (Tools).
