Changing any symbol and creating changed runtimefiles is causing all screens with symbols to be compiled even if they don't contain the changed symbol

Summary

In the Engineering Studio, changing a single symbol, not used in any screen, leads to the creation of Service Engine files for all screens containing symbols. This bug has been fixed.

Description

If changes are made to a symbol in the EngineeringStudio, all screens containing a symbol from a symbol library are compiled when “Create changed Service Engine Files” is executed, even if no changes have been made to their symbols. This behavior occurs even if only an empty symbol is added to the symbol library that is not used in any screen. As a result, even changing a single symbol can lead to long waiting times when creating the Service Engine files.

This behavior has been changed. When executing “Create changed Service Engine Files”, the Service Engine files are now, as expected, only recreated for those screens that contain changed symbols.

To benefit from this fix:

  • Update your zenon Software Platform to the latest build of zenon 8.10 or higher.
