BurPVI driver with network redundancy

BurPVI driver with network redundancy

Summary

How can I configure the BurPVI driver for communication in a setup with primary server and secondary server?

Description

How can I configure the BurPVI driver for communication in a setup with primary server and secondary server?

Solution

The BuRPVI driver uses the configured station address in its communication. While the PLCs support multiple connections, the station address used must be unique. In a redundant configuration where the driver on the primary server and the secondary server both need to communicate to the PLC, each driver needs a unique station address. Until now, a manual workaround was required using two different driver configuration files on the primary server and the secondary server.

The BurPVI driver has been enhanced to allow configuration of the station address for both the primary server and the secondary server in the driver configuration, obsoleting the manual workaround.

Existing configurations work as they did before.
