Symbol with multiple combined elements - Best practice

Symbol with multiple combined elements - Best practice

Hi
I'm new to Zenon and are looking for best practices. Fex regarding "complex" symbols.
I hope to get feedback -and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction for using Zenon the best way

My usecase is fex creating a valve symbol.
-Part of the symbol need to change color based on open and closed statuses
-Part of the symbol need to change color based on local or error states

Currently I'm able to realize this symbol by first creating separate symbols for the open/closed status and local/error status
-And afterwards creating a third symbol containing the two first symbols -grouped together.

Problem 1:
The result is I have three symbols in the library. -Two which I dont need, but cannot remove since it seems Zenon needs them
Problem 2:
This is very time consuming and in other tools I have used, this process is simpler.
Question:
Is multiple combined elements really neccesary? or is it possible -or is it asimpler way of doing this?

Anyone? :-)
