Standard recipe not exporting when configured as a Network

Hello.
I am sorry if this is very basic, but I have never used recipes before.
I have a standard recipe which copies variable values to a .txt for comparisons purposes. The recipe is read and exported from functions on the screen and creates a .txt in an export folder in the RT.
The process works when the project is configured as a standalone server configuration on my laptop, but not when I enable the network option in the project properties and transfer the RT files out to the devices.
When the export function is trigger on the networked devices, the export folder is created in the RT, but there is no .txt.
Is it possible to run the recipes when configured as a network? If so does anyone have any ideas what I am missing. I appreciate any help and support people could offer.
Thank you
