Setting the clock time element

I have been looking at the clock element and the functions read time from variable.
The function allows you to change the clock time from a variable if it is in the following format.
dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm:ss.
I have been able to use Straton to convert integer values from a PLC and concatenate them into the string format to adjust the clock time within a test project on my laptop.
I was wondering whether there is a way to create and concatenate strings within zenon without the need to use straton.
I understand that it could be possible to use VBA to create the string however the application will be used on a windows CE PDA which does not allow VBA to be used.
Will Straton run on the PDA?
I would prefer to use Zenon only as this would remove the need to buy 8 Straton IO's
