Last opened screen

Hello.
I am having a problem displaying the variable "Last opened screen" and was hoping maybe someone could offer some advice.
I have several projects operating under a head project. All projects and head project have different header screens which contain the variable "Last opened scren", these screens also have different frames.
The head project displays the variable with no problem. But the sub projects do not display the variables. I have checked the project properties for each project, and the correct frame is selected in the "graphic design" and "Main frames" selection, but the variable still does not display.
Is there something I am missing?
