Actually, there is a similiar topic about very same issue but it has been posted a year ago and the issue seems unresolved on that one.

I'm taking zenon Basic Training - Energy course. On drivers and variables module of the course I restored the provided project backup named IEC61850 Server Sim in order to simulate IEDs. 

But I did not manage to establish communication between my training project and the simulator. Possibility of configuration error on my training project in mind, I tried the project backup povided in successor training module. That didn't work, either.

I need advise, please,
