I am currently working with the zenon software for the first time and I am configuring communication using the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. I have imported a signal list into Zenon and would like to test the communication in order to verify that I am receiving values for the configured variables.

I noticed that there is a simulator included in the zenon installation called Logic – IEC870_IEC_6087, however I was not able to find any documentation or user guide explaining how to use it.

I would therefore like to ask:

• Can the IEC870_IEC_6087 simulator be used to test IEC 60870-5-104 communication and the imported signal list in zenon?

• Is there another recommended IEC-104 simulator that can be used for testing communication with zenon?

• Is there any available documentation or example explaining how to use the IEC870_IEC_6087 simulator?
