dynamic text visibility

I am unable to configure the dynamic visibility of a text element in ZENON based on a Boolean variable from a Siemens PLC.
When the value of a bit variable in the PLC changes (0→1 or 1→0), the text does not become visible/invisible. Visualization works in Runtime, communication with the PLC is established, other variables are displayed correctly.
