Hello everyone,
I would like to reuse and adapt elements from official zenon demo projects such as Z14_SUBSTATION_HMI_DEMO and Z15_BESS_DEMO in my own project. Specifically, I want to copy Smart Objects, symbols, and screens while understanding their underlying mechanisme and functionality.
My main challenge is first to identify and transferring all linked elements required for these objects to work correctly in another project. I often find that after copying an object, some references, variables, graphics, or other dependencies are missing.
To better understand this process, I have completed several courses from the zenon Online Academy, including:
I have also reviewed the online Help, manuals, tutorial videos, and forum discussions, but I have not yet found a comprehensive method for extracting and reusing template components.
Currently, my approach is:
1) Export from demo proejct, import into my project and reinstatiate
2) Right-click the object and review Linked Elements.
3) Check Released Properties to identify associated variables.
4) Review screen elements and symbol references through the Properties window.
5) Search for associated files under Graphics, often requiring manual visual comparison to find the correct graphics.
My questions are:
Any advice, best practices, or recommended resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
