Attribution : Nice solution for machines variables ?

Hello, I have a question about "Attribution". We've an idea to our project.
I would like to make an attribution for machines variables to intern variables.
That could be a great solution to avoid some problem when I use machines variables as limit...
I wonder if making lots of attribution for machines variable could use lots of memory ?
Machines variables come from drivers : IEC61850, SNMP, OPC-CMS, Beckhoff
What do you think about that ?
